Magazine Publication – RAMP 09/2013

September 26th, 2013

Assigned by Germany’s prime avantgarde car & lifestyle magazines ‘ramp‘ and ‘rampstyle’ I’ve been roadtrippin’ with a brand new, surf-blue MINI Paceman from Marseille to the MINI Kitesurf Tour Europe in Hyeres. Accompanied by Matthias, ‘ramp’-writer/journalist & car addict we raced, uhm cruised, the pristine coast line and vibrant city of Marseille.

Making-Of Photo Shoot ‘City Shaolin’ – Los Angeles, USA, 11/2012

November 22nd, 2012

Here come some first raw making-of shots and the making-of video of our guerilla photo & video shoot ‘City Shaolin’ in the vibrant streets of downtown Los Angeles. Glad that we found corners for ourselves. Or if not just randomly blocking the road traffic by jumping on the streets to take advantage of the unique light & shade play.

Props go out to my brother Jo Blankenburg filming, editing and composing music for the action, Yuichiro Sixtwo Oku assisting and composing music either. Not to forget gorgeous model, actress & passionate martial arts fighter Catherine Chen performing like a tiger!

Photo Trip – Syrian Arab Republic #1

April 14th, 2010

Basically it’s a hell of a mission connecting to the internet when you are traveling rudimentary in Syria. But eventually we managed to sneak into an open WLAN in Hama, our second stop after the last two days spending in the capital of Syria, Damascus, the eldest inhabitant city of the world. And you can feel and anticipate the age and tradition sparkling out of the rugged buildings. The people are one of the friendliest I’ve ever met – open-minded and interested in foreign culture and humans. Coincidentally we already met two journalists who gave us a bit of an impetus in syrian history. Well, a bit of a downside: facebook and other social networks are filtered and not accessible here in Hama…hm…we’ve to respect that…for sure!
